Gilroy – Trevino Brothers Construction needed eight innings to remain unbeaten in Men’s DD League adult softball play Tuesday, rallying past Pacific Coast Bail Bonds 17-16 at Christmas Hill Park.
Jeff Dougherty’s RBI-triple keyed a six-run rally in the bottom of the seventh as Trevino Brothers tied it at 16-16. Scott Mittleman doubled and scored on a Cavin Brown single in the eighth to give the Builders a 2-0 mark in first-half play.
Casey Higgins went 4-for-4 to lead the Trevino Brothers offense. Allen Hazelberg went 5-for-5, Jorge Landeros homered and Joel Gaeta provided a single, double and triple for Pacific Coast Bail Bonds.
New Hope Community Church improved to 2-0 with a 20-4 win over Kenko Utility Supply at Las Animas Park.
Ted Tencati went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for New Hope. Clark Poulsen homered in a 4-for-4, three-RBI effort for the winners. Shane Howell plated five New Hope runs with a homer and double. Paul Rodriguez went 3-for-3. Kelly Brown singled and doubled for Kenko Utility Supply.
Bracco’s Towing slipped by the Loco Boys 13-11 to move to 2-0 in DD action.
Danny Rubalcava and Manuel Lopez each hit a run-scoring single as Bracco’s tallied four runs in the fifth inning to take a 10-9 lead.
Lopez hit a two-run homer, Frank Kurtz a solo blast for the winners. Rich Hernandez, Gabe Corral and Jimmy Castaneda socked Loco Boys home runs.
The Dirty Dozen outlasted No Soup 4 You 19-12 to leave both clubs at 1-1.
Mikey Reggiardo drove in four Dirty Dozen runs with a triple and two singles. Johnny Andrade went 4-for-5 for the winners. Joaquin Chacon went 3-for-3 and scored three runs for the Soup. Danny DeLong slapped a three-run Soup home run.
Don’s Vending moved to 1-1 in Women’s B League play Tuesday with an 11-1 upset of Kluck University at Christmas Hill.
Cory Casillas paced the Vendors with a three-run double. Vicki Velasquez went 2-for-2 and scored twice for Don’s. Becky Sanchez singled and doubled for Kluck University (1-1).
Williams Dental Lab, the defending league champion, took over first place at 2-0 by defeating Kay’s Kids 24-3.
Kay’s Kids led 2-0 after two innings as Mario Lucio clubbed a two-run single. Cherie Somavia highlighted an eight-run Williams Dental Lab third with a two-run double.
Maureen Hughes, Celia Bonilla and Rose Martinez each managed four hits for Williams Dental Lab. Lucio went 3-for-3 and Kathy Rogers scored twice for Kay’s Kids.
