Anchorpoint Cruises to Easy Wins

Anchorpoint Christian’s softball team had a big week as it won two Coast Conference games handily.

The Warriors beat Calvary Chapel 20-4 behind the five-hit, eight-strikeout pitching of Danielle Payne. Offensively, Payne was 5 for 5. Jasmine Marozik and Olivia Echeverria were 2 for 4.

Anchorpoint drubbed York 23-0 as Mikhaela Osuna pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts. The Warriors’ 11-hit attack was paced by Chelsey Urbanski, who homered, and Kristian Osuna and Marozik with doubles.

ACHS is now 6-1 overall, 3-0 in league.

FCP Remain Undefeated

Gilroy – FCP continued to dominate in the Gilroy High Indoor Soccer League, defeating the Freshmen 4-1.

FCP, which has outscored opponents 15-3, is the only team 3-0 in the league.

Other winners for the week were Team USA, 2-1 over the Big Boyz, and Staff Infection, 3-2 over FH United. TSS and The Team tied 2-2. The win by Staff Infection made the April 19 encounter with the Freshmen a winner-advances game.

No games are scheduled next week with school shut down for spring break. Games resume April 16.
