Joseph Peter Alosi passed away Sunday December 1, 2013 in his Morgan Hill home with family by his side. He was 89 years old.
Joseph battled cancer and related ailments. He was a fighter, having survived successfully survived the disease twice before.
On June 22, 1924 Joseph was born in Boston MA. In his teenage years the Alosi family moved to Susanville where Joseph attended high school and became a star athlete, setting multiple school records. The family then bought a ranch in Morgan Hill where they moved and farmed prunes, apricots, and walnuts.
He married Flora Maciuca on February 2, 1958. They went on to have three sons and a daughter.
Joseph was always a hard working farmer at heart. For as long as he was able, he spent most of his days in the sunshine. In addition to farming, he also worked in pharmaceutical deliveries.
Joseph, a devout Catholic, was a humble man and despite his pain was quicker to grab his prayer book and rosary than he was to complain. He was a quietly giving person, who loved chess, travel, reading, and photography. He was also fiercely competitive, never one to turn down a game of cards.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Grazia, brother Philip, and wife Flora. He is survived by his children Anthony, Elena, Joseph, and Albert; Grandchildren Christina, Joseph, Garrett, Eric, and Jessica.
