Police arrested a 39-year-old Morgan Hill man on suspicion of molesting a child family member last week, according to a press release from Morgan Hill Police.
Officers were dispatched to a home on the 16700 block of Barnell Avenue about 11:30 p.m. May 27 on a report of a child molestation, police said. Morgan Hill detectives were called out to assist in the investigation.
During the investigation, police determined that Omar Jimenez, 39 of Morgan Hill, molested the victim on at least two occasions, according to the press release.
The victim is a family member of Jimenez’, according to police. Police did not release the age or gender of the victim.
Jimenez was booked at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, police said.
The press release added that Morgan Hill Police encourage parents to tell their children then can speak to a police officer, teacher or any responsible adult “when they feel threatened or scared.”
