Red Phone

Dear Red Phone,

“I’m by the Las Animas tennis courts parking lot and the big complaint I have is two people have taken over two parking spots. But partly, it’s hard to see the lines. So they need to really have the lines repainted, otherwise it’s hard to enforce them. Thank you.”

Dear tennis pro,

Red Phone gets it, park maintenance is a big deal and that parking lot is small so that when a number of tennis pros pull up for a match, it’s important to have the stripes on the lot just like it’s important to have the stripes on the court. We hope you find this response from City of Gilroy Administrator helpful:

“The Las Animas Park parking areas are in our capital budget schedule for overlay in fiscal year 2016.  Staff will be completing repair of holes and crack sealing as appropriate this year. The economic downturn caused us to get off our normal schedule for parking lot maintenance at all our parks, so we are endeavoring to get back on a schedule as our budget conditions improve over time. This, the items being scheduled for FY 2016 as we juggle all the competing demands.”
