Marty Bueno sank 10 3-pointers Wednesday as PB4L upset District 5 by a 91-63 margin in Men’s Spring Basketball League play.
Bueno’s 30 points helped PB4L move into second place at 3-1 in the nine-team league. Vince Bautista hit six 3-pointers in a 22-point performance for the winners. Tyler Ruiz helped with 16 points, and Terry Johnson scored 11 for PB4L.
District 5 slipped to 2-1 and third place with the loss. Tucker Baksa carried the District 5 offense with 29 points. Eric Tollison followed with 21 points for the losers.
Nate Kassell provided 16 points as 50 Shades of Bay Tree joined the District in third place at 2-1 with a 69-44 win over Underdog.
Brian Booth struck for 15 points, Eric Nelson nine and Matthew Kassel nine for the winners. Paramvir Singh paced the Underdog scoring with 13 points. Danny Nou was good for 11 points, Yivah Liang nine for Underdog.
The Shredders moved to 2-2 with a 47-44 win over NAYTIBS.
Saleem Vakili and LaMont Chappell each scored six points in the first half as the Shredders built a 26-19 lead. Vakili netted three 3-pointers to lead the winners with 13 points. Jacob Logan and Chappell each garnered 10 points.
Van Ryan Mendoza keyed the NAYTIBS offense with a 12-point effort. David Baladad scored 10 points, and Siljeff Tabancay scored nine for NAYTIBS.
