Jose Romo scored a pair of second-half goals to lift Christopher’s boys soccer team to a crucial 2-1 victory at Everett Alvarez on Tuesday night.

Josue Salgado and Edwin Galeanna had assists for the Cougars, who improved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in the Monterey Bay League Pacific Division. The win vaulted the Cougars over the Eagles for first place in the MBL Pacific.

The only goal for Alvarez was a Christopher own goal.
