Red Phone

“In the article in the paper about trains going to San Jose Airport, how close to the airport do they actually get?”

Red Phone: Dear Wondering, Red Phone answered a question from a reader on Jan. 11 wondering about different options to get to the San Jose and San Francisco airports from Gilroy and Morgan Hill. One of those options was to take Caltrain.

The service hours are limited and are only during the week. But it still is a good option to consider if your schedule is flexible. The trains don’t go to the actual airports. There are free shuttles available that take people from the Santa Clara Caltrain Station to San Jose International about six miles away and drops them off at either terminals A or B.

In San Francisco, shuttles are available to take passengers the three miles across U.S. 101 from the Millbrae Caltrain station to any of the terminals.

Bushes need trimming

“The oleander bushes in the middle of Monterey Road, between 10th Street and Luchessa, need trimmed back. People cross Monterey along there and the bushes are so out of control that you can’t see them and they can’t see you. It’s dangerous.”

Red Phone: Red Phone forwarded your concern on to the city maintenance department who quickly sent out a crew last week to trim back the bushes. Hopefully this area will be a little safer now.
