Authorities charged a 65-year-old Morgan Hill man who sexually abused four children over a period of several years with eight counts of child molestation.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges against Miguel Saucedo Delgado Thursday, according to a press release from Morgan Hill police Sgt. Troy Hoefling.
The charges followed an investigation by Morgan Hill police, who responded to the victims’ recent reports of the sexual abuse, Hoefling said.
The four victims, one of whom was still underage at the time the incidents were reported, told police that Delgado sexually abused them while they were between the ages of 5 and 13, police said. The victims lived in Morgan Hill at the time of the crimes.
As a result of the D.A.’s charges, police served a $500,000 warrant for Delgado’s arrest, Hoefling said.
About 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Morgan Hill officers served a search warrant at Delgado’s residence. Delgado was not home at the time, but detectives seized “numerous items of evidence,” Hoefling said.
Delgado was contacted by police shortly after his home was searched, and he later surrendered at the Morgan Hill police station, police said.
He was booked at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of eight counts of child molestation, with a special circumstance for multiple victims, Hoefling said.
Anyone with information about these incidents, or who might have been a victim of Delgado’s, can contact the Morgan Hill Police Department at (408) 779-2101, or the anonymous tip line at (408) 947-7867.
