Hard Ninety continued as the lone unbeaten team in the Gilroy Spring Basketball League on Wednesday by turning back 50 Shades of Bay Tree 55-38 at Solorsano Gym.
Frankie Tomasetti contributed 20 points as Hard Ninety reached 4-0 in the 10-game season. J.T. Tipton scored a team-high 10 points in the first half as Hard Ninety built a 31-21 lead. Tipton finished with 16 points, Sig Reynisson 10 for the winners. Kameron Handy worked inside for 11 points and Robert Kovacs hit two 3-pointers on his way to 10 points for the Shades (2-2).
The Shredders outlasted Recology 49-41 in a showdown of 2-2 clubs.
Saleem Vakili struck for 22 points for the Shredders, including five 3-pointers in the first half. Dolapo Opere netted 22 points, Tony Travis 11 for Recology.
NAYTIBS moved to 2-4 with a 69-46 victory over District 5.
Daryl Baladad scored 16 points for NAYTIBS. Jake Lopez came up with 15 points, Abraham Baladad 12 for the winners. Eric Tollison scored 19 points, Tucker Baksa 11 for District 5 (3-2).
PB4L moved into second place at 4-1 Monday with a 93-48 win over NAYTIBS. Marty Bueno scored 21 points, Vince Bautista 19, Anthony Butler 14, Tyler Ruiz 12 and Alex Huerta 10 for the victors. Van Ryan Mendoza poured in 16 points and Baladad scored 12 for NAYTIBS.
District 5 topped Underdog 60-50 in Monday’s showdown at Solorsano Gym. Justin Nicholson scored 21 points, Baksa 18 and Drew Pearson 13 for the District. Yivah Liang scored 16 points, Paramviv Singh 14 for Underdog.
Recology eased past AYOO 48-41 behind 16 points apiece from Travis and Opere. Davontea Johnson scored 21 points, Tyler Benz nine for AYOOO.
