The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, which has a substation in San Martin, responded to crimes as usual this past week including theft, vandalism and a bountiful bevvy of drug offenders including one guy who is wanted in Kentucky.
Burglary
-An unknown suspect(s), between noon and 4:56 p.m. Sept. 3 on the 14000 block of Olive Avenue in Morgan Hill, entered a residence through an unlocked back door and stole various items estimated at $500.
Illegal dumping
-An unknown suspect(s), between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and 4:16 p.m. Aug. 16 on the 300 block of Laguna Avenue in Morgan Hill, dumped concrete on the victim’s property, coming at a $2,000 cost to properly dispose of the concrete.
Unlawful use of credit debit card
-An unknown suspect(s), at noon on Aug. 24 on the 13000 block of Uvas Road at Dell Court in Morgan Hill, charged more than $400 at three separate times on the victim’s debit card.
Identity theft
-An unknown suspect(s), between 9 a.m. Aug. 24 and 9 a.m. Aug. 30 on the 14000 block of Water Avenue in San Martin, obtained personal information and attempted to open a credit card in the victim’s name.
-An unknown suspect(s), between midnight Feb. 8 and midnight Aug. 21 on West Highland -Avenue in San Martin, used information from the victim’s lost wallet – a temporary California Driver’s License, social security card, library card and resident alien identification card – to open bank accounts.
Grand theft
-An unknown suspect(s), between 1 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. Aug. 25 on the 16000 block of Cory Drive in Morgan Hill, stole two saddle bags and clothing – estimated at $4,400 – from a stranded motorcycle parked on the side of the freeway.
Petty theft
-An unknown suspect(s), between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 30 on the 12000 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, stole a pocket knife, a spare key and access cards from the victim’s unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway.
Public intoxication
-Francesca Christine Cribley, 24, between 6:20 p.m. and 6:42 p.m. Aug. 27 on the 17000 block of Finley Ridge Road in Morgan Hill, for public intoxication after she was found trespassing onto other people’s property and vomiting in the bushes on a hillside.
Weapons
-Richard David Valenzuela, 33, 2:14 p.m. Sept. 2 on Monterey Highway at Luchessa Avenue in Gilroy, for possession of metal knuckles.
Vandalism
-An unknown suspect(s), 3 p.m. Sept. 2 on the 2100 block of Pacheco Court in Gilroy, broke three car windows on the same vehicle, estimated damage of $500.
-An unknown suspect(s), between 11 p.m. Aug. 26 and 9:25 a.m. Aug. 27 on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard at Mesa Road in Gilroy, broke a window of the lecture hall of the Science Building at Gavilan College. Officers believe a BB gun or pellet gun was used to shoot the holes in the window.
Vehicle Theft
-An unknown suspect(s), between 11 p.m. Sept. 1 and 9 a.m. Sept. 2 on the 600 block of Palm Avenue in Morgan Hill, stole a vehicle parked next to the victim’s trailer.
Drugs
-Patrick Anthony Posey, 19, 3:24 a.m. Sept. 1 on Leavesely Road at Monterey Road in Gilroy, for possession of cocaine and possession of dangerous fireworks after being pulled over for operating a motor vehicle with an inoperable headlight.
-Mario Alberto Ramirez, 48, 10:41 a.m. Aug. 24 on Travel Park Circle at Monterey Road in Gilroy, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of Codeine without a prescription.
-Robert Taylor McDuff, 30, 9:41 p.m. Aug. 23 on Old Gilroy Road at Monterey Highway in Gilroy, for being under the influence of a controlled substance and willfully resisting arrest.
-Joseph Beltran, 24, 12:41 a.m. Aug. 15 on Monterey Highway at Eighth Street in Gilroy, for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
-Gerald Lee Mayfield, 60, between 6:42 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18 on Travel Park Circle at Monterey Highway in Gilroy, for possession of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice out of Kentucky.
-Hector Silva Contreras, 45, 6:40 p.m. Aug. 18 on Center Avenue at San Martin Avenue in San Martin, for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
-Manuel Avena Jr., 54, 9:25 p.m. Aug. 19 on Mantelli Drive at Church Street in Gilroy, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
-Armando A. Llanes, 52, 9 p.m. Aug. 20 on 10th Street at Alexander Street in Gilroy, for possession of heroin and possession of a controlled substance after officers stopped his vehicle for a non-functioning license plate light.
-Saul Zabata, 48, 10:46 p.m. Aug. 20 on Monterey Road at Buena Vista Avenue in Gilroy, for possession for sale and transportation of methamphetamine, after his vehicle was stopped and he found to be driving on a suspended license. Officers discovered four baggies with and unknown white powdery substance and seven baggies of methamphetamine, weighing approximately 118.2 grams.
Resisting arrest
-Jose Jesus Lustre, 28, 12:51 p.m. Aug. 22 on the 14000 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, for resisting, delaying, obstructing arrest.
Disturbing the peace
-Juan M. Cardenas, 48, between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Aug. 31 on the 1100 block of Kannely Lane in San Martin, for disturbing the peace by playing loud music in the late hours.
Warrants
-Timothy Alan Obler, 44, 2:45 a.m. Aug. 18 on Monterey Highway at Travel Park Circle in Gilroy, was arrested on two warrants.
