Gavilan College’s High on Health Faire will celebrate its 20th anniversary from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Gavilan College Student Center located at 5055 Santa Teresa Boulevard in Gilroy.
The annual health and resource fair, dedicated this year to the memory of former administrator John Pruitt, provides students and community members with up-to-date health information, resources and free medical testing.
“As Vice President of Student Services, John whole-heartedly believed that an individual’s overall health and wellness consisted of mind, body and spirit – and our Health Faire continues to serve those needs,” said Alice Dufresne-Reyes, Gavilan’s Student Health Nurse.
The public is invited to visit with community agencies and health care providers, which will offer free services to visitors. Gavilan will be hosting agencies from San Benito and Santa Clara counties, including The American Red Cross, Breathe California, Community Solutions, Cal State University of Monterey Bay, Department of Rehabilitation, Hazel Hawkins Hospital and Saint Louis Hospital.
In addition, many Gavilan College departments such as Allied Health, Cosmetology, Counseling, Disability Resource Center, Extended Opportunity Program and Services, and Athletics will be on hand to answer questions.
Event parking is free.
