Former Gilroy resident, Leroy K. Schell passed away in Klamath Falls, OR on September 15th, 2009, after a lengthy illness.

The only child of Merton and Violet Schell was born in Gilroy on February 6, 1927. He graduated from Gilroy High School in 1945. He served in the army from 1945 until 1947. Upon returning home, he entered into the family cattle business in the Hollister area.

The family moved the operation to Klamath Falls in 1962. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, sons Kenneth (Sylvia) Schell, Tim (Gloria) Schell, daughter Robin (Larry) Criss, grandchildren Robby (Athena) Schell, Tyler, Janci Schell, Seth (James) Schell, Jamie (Travis) Bowers, Brandon (Kary) Criss, Kelley (Jason) Lovell and eight great-grandchildren.
