Gilroy was among the top ranked cities in the latest study done of Santa Clara County’s roadways.
Gilroy’s Pavement Condition Index earned a score in the 80s, along with Santa Clara and Los Altos. This percentile is considered to be in the “good” category.
No city in the county earned excellent ratings but no city earned a poor rating either. As a whole, Santa Clara County earned a score of 77, falling in the “good” category.
Gang awareness presentation
The Gilroy Police Department will host a Gang Awareness Presentation at the Gilroy Senior Center, 7 p.m. Jan. 20. Members of the Anti-Crime Team will be at the presentation to discuss current gang trends and warning signs for parents. Police Chief Denise Turner will also be available to answer questions. The presentation will be offered in both English and Spanish and translators will be present.
