GILROY – Tax Systems survived in Men’s D Softball League post-season play Wednesday, edging the Hit Men 9-8 at Las Animas Park to square the best 2-of-3 Championship Series at 1-1.

Danny Garcia’s two-out RBI-double in the bottom of the sixth inning snapped the 8-8 deadlock and sent the clubs into Friday night’s finale at 6:30 p.m. at Christmas Hill Park.

Daniel Hernandez, Ryan Velasco and Joel Valdivia hit consecutive home runs in the Tax Systems first inning for a 3-2 lead. A two-run double by Zach Cobbs helped the Taxes take a 6-3 lead in the fourth. Hernandez and Velasco added RBI hits in the fifth for an 8-3 edge before the Hit Men struck for five in the sixth to tie the score.

Garcia and Velasco each went 3-for-3. Mark Maggiora produced a triple and two singles for the Hit Men.

Pacific Coast Bail Bonds earned the Men’s CC title Wednesday with an 11-10 nod over Dirty Dozen.

Mitch MacVicar, Juan Contreras and Eric Cantu lined consecutive singles in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bondsmen the one-run decision. Pacific Coast was the lone team among the seven post-season series to end play with a 2-0 advantage.

Ryan Boyd went 4-for-4 for the champions. Kevin Orosco hit a two-run double as the Dirty Dozen struck for seven runs in the seventh to pull into a 10-10 tie.

Isaac Seymour scored one run and added a two-run single as CenCal Auto Body topped Self Made 3-2 in Men’s C play Wednesday. Joey Diaz went 3-for-3 for the winners. Brian Collom drove in both Self Made runs with a homer and double.

The Hit Crew and Anritsu split the first two games of the Men’s E series. Aaron Foster clubbed a double and two singles, scoring three runs as the Hit Crew defeated Anritsu 13-11 Monday. George Martinez and Cesar Lopez each drove in two runs to lead Anritsu past the Hit Crew 10-7 Tuesday.

Frank Vargas Taxes opened the Men’s BB series with a 10-3 win over Farmer’s Insurance-Dee’z Nutz. Rich Perez went 3-for-3 for the winners. Charlie Sanchez collected a triple, single and sacrifice fly for Dee’z. Frank Vargas Taxes forfeited Wednesday’s second game.

Jason Mesa homered and Ryan Boyd added a double and single as Team Hair FX evened the Co-Rec C series at 1-1 Tuesday with a 13-5 win over RSW Racing. The clubs conclude the series Friday night at Christmas Hill at 7:40 p.m. Mario Razo scored four runs in RSW Racing’s 15-4 victory Monday.
