THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

Did District Attorney Dolores Carr make the right call to sanction a one-year jail sentence plea agreement with former GHS teacher Albert Vicuna in sex crimes case?

No: 9 Yes: 2

■ Yes. If the prosecution offers a plea bargain, then there was a possibility that a jury trial might allow him to go free. Having sex with a minor gets you one year; downloading child porn gets you five. Go figure.

■ Could have been longer. The guy’s life is ruined and prison could be pretty miserable. A sad and sordid affair.

■ No. He violated not only the law but the trust of the children and parents to whom which he is accountable.

■ NO – feels like a slap on the wrist to me.

■ NO! For molesting young girls, he deserves a much harsher sentence starting with castration because pedophiles are sick and there is no cure for these predators. After one year, he will be searching again for children to victimize.

■ No. There should be no plea deal for him. He kidnapped and raped a girl who is underage. The fact that he is also a teacher should add more to the sentence.

■ NO! The sentence was too lenient.
