seniors at Seaside High this past weekend, Alana Osaki of Gilroy
High and Chelsea Urbanski of Anchorpoint Christian helped their
team, which was coached by GHS ladies’ coach Susan Shapiro, to an
81-58 victory.
SEASIDE – Representing Gilroy in a girls’ all-star basketball game for seniors at Seaside High this past weekend, Alana Osaki of Gilroy High and Chelsea Urbanski of Anchorpoint Christian helped their team, which was coached by GHS ladies’ coach Susan Shapiro, to an 81-58 victory.
Of the eight players on her team’s roster, everyone scored and contributed on defense, Shapiro said.
Rochelle Welsh of Salinas led all scorers with 24 points and Hannah Larick, also of Salinas, had 22 points for Shapiros’ squad. Michelle Briggs, a center from Santa Catalina, was the other team’s leading scorer and rebounder with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
