Power School Spring Break Camp took place last week in Christmas Hill Park, bringing together students in an effort to build character.
The camp was a joint effort of the Gilroy Unified School District, the Mexican American Community Services Agency, the YMCA and Cal-SOAP. It was the first year of the camp, which was free and targeted students who scored on the lowest two rungs of state standardized testing.
Students played character-building games, took a hike in Henry W. Coe State Park and planted trees, among other activities.
