GILROY – It’s a good thing for the Gilroy High football team
that it’s only three games into the season.
There is plenty of time to turn the year around – TCAL play
hasn’t even started.
After an opening night win against Live Oak, the Mustangs
haven’t looked or played the same.

The noticeable difference could be due in large part to the list of injured Mustangs that seems to be growing with every hit. It could be the facts that the defense has yet to stop the run, or the offenses’ inconsistent play.
Whatever the reason may be the Mustangs need to work out the kinks in a hurry as they travel to Palo Alto tonight to take on the Vikings.
Palo Alto (1-1) is coming off a loss at Mitty – something the Mustangs and Vikings have in common – but last year’s CCS medium school division runnerup will be ready.
The Mustangs better be ready as well. A 1-3 start heading into league action won’t bode well for Gilroy.
Look for a quick start for the Mustangs who have had to play from behind the past two games. A run game will help ease some of the pressure on QB Nick Marra and allow for the quick-strike offense to flow.
