Limelight Actors Theatre rolls into its sixth year with “Momologues”, an original comedy about Motherhood.
Originally one of the most successful plays in their first season, it was brought back for us to enjoy in the beginning of their sixth. Director Kevin Kevin Heath has gathered some of his best Actors Theatre alumni to bring in this fun-filled production.
You can’t miss the performances of Robin Harris (Steel Magnolias, Love Lost & What I Wore), Dana Morgan (Rose’s Delima and was in the original Momalogues in 2011), Rachel Perry (Steel Magnolias and Love Lost & What I Wore) and Roberta Vinkhuyzen (The 39 Steps and The Steel Magnolias). All four have what each need for the individual moms they portray with tongue in cheek humor and believable hilarious delivery.
If you have experienced motherhood the humor will be bitter sweet and will remind you of how much you adore your child. If you are a not a mom, the humor is there, but I don’t think the message penetrates as with the moms with kids. Topics includes getting pregnant, breast feeding, getting kids off to their first day of school – all covered with cleaver writing and well delivered dialogue.
So bring or order dinner and a bottle of your favorite wine – Keep in mind there is a $10 corkage fee for each bottle of wine brought and imbibed.
(The fee is donated back to support the Center for the Arts.) There is also a concession that has wine and drinks available on premises.
If you bring your own food be sure to bring all utensils needed for a comfortable feast.
Dinner can also be ordered from the Milias Restaurant from their “Limelight Theatre to Go Menu”. Order by noon the day of the show and dinner will be delivered to the theatre at 7 p.m. To order call (408) 337-5100.
Do make reservations, tickets are picked up and paid for at the door.
