She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7999 Miller Avenue, Gilroy and a visitation will begin there at 9:00 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 26, 2016.  Betty passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband, Harold Kelsey, at her side.
 Betty and Harold were married for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Kelsey and by her sisters, Erelda Cruze and Charlotte Holdaway.
 She is survived by her husband, Harold Kelsey, daughter, Cheryl vanderHorst of Texas and her three grandchildren, Jared vanderHorst, Jillian Schults and Lauren vanderHorst as well as her two great-grandchildren, Norah and June, her sister, Linda Wyman of Arizona and her many nieces and nephews, both in Gilroy and throughout the state and country.
 She was born in Richmond, CA and moved with her family as a young child to Harmony Hills, CA just outside of San Juan Bautista, CA.
 She met Harold, the love of her life, while attending High School at Hollister High. Betty was a Hollister Haybaler while Harold was a Watsonville Wildcat. They were married inAugust of 1956, during their senior year and have been lovebirds ever since.
 She worked as Operations Officer for Bank of America at the Gilroy Branch for many years and following her promotion to Vice President of Operations, she transferred to the San Jose Main Branch from which she would subsequently retire.
 Following her retirement, she expanded her interest in Genealogy and developed quite a gift for the search for her family history. Over the years she helped many friends and family with their search for their family history as well.
 She will be missed by her friends and family and remembered for her loving and feisty nature.
