Someone broke into the Salvation Army storage trailer on Camino Arroyo and stole $200 worth of donations.
Someone stole a 2012 grey Dodge truck at 1:45 p.m. on Monterey Street. The owner had left the door open and the keys in the ignition. The suspect had a shaved head, was in his 30s wearing black jeans and a black sweat top with red sleeves.
Someone threw a large rock at a GMC Yukon driving on Highway 101 at 6:27 p.m., causing major damage to the windshield.
Someone passed a counterfeit $100 bill at the City of Gilroy at 8 a.m., either at the records, recreation department or utilities counter.
A roommate in a Yorktrown Drive home stole $3,000 of church donation money that was to be deposited in a church bank account at 5:42 p.m. The theft was caught on surveillance video.
April 13
Gilroy Police found a hash oil lab after being reported to a strong smell of marijuana coming from a Polk Court residence. Police arrested three men, Nestor Lopez, 21, Â Antonio Guzman, 25, and Valentino Ramirez, 24 on suspicion of operating the lab. Police found a loaded .22 caliber rifle, assorted ammunition, marijuana, concentrated oil and methamphetamine.
A woman who bought a phone on Craigslist for $280 reported he was defrauded when the phone wouldn’t work because it was locked.
Adriel Jimenez was arrested for DUI after his Ford Escort became stuck in a field at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Thomas Road at 11:20 p.m.
Two Leavesley Road storage units were burglarized overnight and thieves stole comic books, a television, a handcrafted knife  and paintball equipment.
April 15
A man blocked the entrance to the Gilroy Police Department with his white 2010 Volkswagen and was arguing with his wife and acting erratically at 7:39 p.m. He admitted to using methamphetamine two days before.
April 16
A man punched a landscaper using a leaf blower too close to his car on the 400 block of Leavesley Road at 10:45 a.m. He said the landscaper was inconsiderate for blowing dust onto his car. He got away before police arrived.
April 17
Jose Morales, 32, was found asleep  with his foot on the brake of his GMC Sierra in the middle of the westbound lane of Camino Arroyo at 5:07 p.m. He was arrested for driving under the influence, driving without a license, possession of a controlled substance and a $50,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Someone stole a credit card, keys and a purse from a car parked on Monterey Road between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.
April 18
Just after midnight a man threw a large rock through the back window of a van on Swanston Lane. Police said the man was 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Two people filled up two baskets at Rite Aid  on Tenth Street at 2:50 p.m. and ran out the door without paying. They drove off in a silver Audi.
Two people told police they were chased by a man with an ax at a hotel on Murray Avenue. While they were running, two other people went into their room and stole a $200 Michael Kors purse with $400 inside. The victims would not cooperate with police.
Two people stole three bottles of champagne from BevMo valued at $1,200 at 8:30 p.m. They fled in a teal vehicle, possibly a Toyota.
April 19
Thieves broke into a PG&E truck overnight on Country Drive, breaking 12 locks and stealing several thousand dollars worth of tools and equipment.
April 22
A man was arrested on Monterey Street after trying to hit his girlfriend with a skateboard at 11:07 p.m. during an argument in which alcohol was involved.
Someone stole two 2-foot-long statues of lions from a business on Monterey Road after cutting through a fence. The statues were valued at $1,600 each.
April 24
A 24-year-old man was arrested after trying to proposition a worker in a bar offering her $500 for sex and then stalking her at her home, trying to climb the second floor balcony of her apartment.
A car was stolen between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. from the Denny’s parking lot on San Ysidro Avenue.
