A huge fourth inning lifted the Intero Real Estate Cubs to a 12-8 win over the Jeffery S. Miller, D.D.S. Red Sox in Little League boy’s minors action on Friday at Las Animas Park.

Sal Hernandez pitched all but one inning for the Cubs, striking out seven. Hernandez was 3-for-4 with the bat, while Cubs shortstop Kenny Dipko went 2-for-3 on the day.

Jordan Mastroieni hammered a “huge” double, according to Cubs coach Danny Mendoza, who was happy to report that two of his players, Justin Elliott and Dominic Ramirez, collected their first hits of the season in the game.

Red Sox coach Michael Gallegos’ club played good ball, keeping pace with the Cubs until their breakout fourth inning.

Red Sox first baseman Colton Britton hammered a single and two doubles, knocking in two runs, for which he got the game ball. Brennan Wilson started for the Red Sox, collecting four strikeouts in four innings, while Brian Purugganan scored two runs and Isac Cadile had a single and a double with two RBIs.
