For those interested in aviation, the Wings of History Air
Museum and the South County Airport are holding an open house on
Saturday from 8am to 4pm.
For those interested in aviation, the Wings of History Air Museum and the South County Airport are holding an open house on Saturday from 8am to 4pm.
The Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles Program will offer free airplane rides for those between the ages of 8 and 17 from 10am to 2pm.
Parents must accompany children to the airport and plane. Children will also be eligible for raffle prizes, including flight lessons.
Tours of the museum will also be available, and across the street from the museum at the airport, there will be general aviation planes with pilots from the South County Airport Pilots Association.
Activities and shows include tethered hot air balloon demonstrations, beginning at 6:30am, biplanes, a display of vintage aircraft and more aviation-related events, including plastic model building and flying model construction classes. Admission is free.
