The Gavilan College baseball team had hits to spare Saturday against Skyline, collecting 20 in an 11-1 defeat of the visitors to even its Coast Conference record.
The Rams (16-14 overall, 9-9 conference) quickly built a 7-0 lead through three innings and tallied a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth frames.
Chris Bradley scattered six hits and seven strikeouts in seven innings of shutout work. Seven different Rams had at least two hits, led by a 4-for-6 day from leadoff batter Cal Tashiro, who also had three RBIs. Kenny Hall and Colby Lee produced three hits each, and Brian Bradley, Johnny Cox, Shea Adams and Lyell Marks contributed two hits apiece. Hall, who boasts a .383 batting average, which places him second in the Pacific Division, also had three RBIs. Tyler Oertle is third in the division in batting average with a .337.
The Rams, who sit two games behind Cabrillo in fourth place in the division, host second-place Canada on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
