Anritsu edged No Soup 4 You 9-8 in Thursday’s showdown of unbeaten Men’s Fall EE Softball League teams at Las Animas Park.
Ray Avena’s third RBI-hit of the game, a single in the sixth inning, gave 4-0 Anritsu a 9-7 lead. Fausto Padilla’s RBI-single in the top of the seventh provided the game’s final run for No Soup 4 You.
Dave Elston went 3-for-3 and scored two Anritsu runs. Manny Juarez went 3-for-4 and Brian Froelich homered for No Soup 4 You (3-1).
The Sweepers reached 2-2 with an 11-2 decision over Cross Ministries. Jason Ramirez hit a three-run home run and Kris Orre went 4-for-4 for the Sweepers. Benjamin Torres and Kiko Sierra scored the Cross Ministries runs. Ryan Perryman tripled and doubled for Cross Ministries.
Gilroy Thunder snapped a three-game losing streak with a 10-9 nod over Claddagh Brew Crew. Jere Brantner ignited a three-run seventh for Gilroy Thunder with a triple. Mike Brantner singled and scored the deciding run. Colin Gardner went 3-for-3 for the winners. Danny Russo and Joey Hoiberg each went 3-for-3 for Claddagh.
Trevino Brothers Construction surprised VFW Bingo 10-9 to move to 3-1 atop the Men’s E League standings Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.
Matt Hernandez went 4-for-4 and Matt Corona and Ryan Mull each scored three runs for Trevino Brothers. Nick Robinson and Josh Diaz produced VFW Bingo home runs.
Burch Please reached 3-1 with a 14-5 victory over the God Squad. John Perez hit two singles as the winners scored nine runs in the fourth inning. Joel Gaeta went 4-for-4 Benito Landeros 3-for-3 and Juan Contreras homered for Burch Please. David Lira went 4-for-4 for the God Squad.
The Lost Boyz turned back the Loco Boys 25-10 as Tucker Baksa powered a homer, two doubles and a single. Matt Smith went 4-for-4 for the Loco Boys.
Out 2 Play topped Anritsu 25-3 Sunday to improve to 4-0 atop the nine-team Co-Rec League at Las Animas.
Joel Garcia went 5-for-5 to pace the Out 2 Play offense. Tommy Muth homered and singled, scoring two Anritsu runs.
Pacheco Pass Produce is 2-2 after a 17-13 decision over Hi-Energy Networks. Shea Adams went 4-for-4 and Phil Tercero went 4-for-5 for Pacheco Pass Produce. Marco Lopez went 4-for-4, Joseph Tovar 3-for-3 for Hi-Energy Networks.
