Gilroy – The South Valley Ballet is holding a dance concert and dessert auction to raise money for the SVB scholarship fund, community outreach and the group’s up-coming three-act ballet “La Fille Mal Gardee.”

It will be the first three act repertoire ballet ever done in the South Valley.

The group has been operating as a non-profit for 30 years as Morgan Hill Dance Company, but this year they applied for non-profit status and changed the name to South Valley Ballet.

In doing so, the group hoped that the new name would represent them more regionally, since they have dancers from Gilroy, Hollister, Los Banos, Aromas, Watsonville, San Jose, Morgan Hill and Salinas in their performing company.

The group’s Spring Dance Concert and Dessert Auction is a fundraiser for the new company and to raise money for scholarships.

The dessert auction will be held Saturday, at 7pm at the Gilroy High School Theater.

The Gilroy High School Theater is located at 750 W 10th Street. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children.
