Gilroy – Police arrested four teenagers after an attack on two young women Monday evening.

Joseph Cesar Hernandez, 18, and Jose Jesus Coronado, 18, both of 7249 Dowdy St., were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Two juveniles also were arrested on the same charges, a 17-year-old female and a 16-year-old male.

The four suspects were flashing gang signs at a victim and her family about 5:30pm, police said. They then threw a rock at a victim’s car, breaking the rear window, and used a bat to break another window.

One of the victims was injured when she was struck in the leg with a brick.

All four suspects were arrested at 7450 Rogers Lane, and booked into county jail on felony assault charges.

Property taxes due Monday

Gilroy – The second installment of 2004-2005 property taxes are due by 5pm, Monday, April 11. Late taxes are subject to a 10 percent and $20 penalty.

Payments should be mailed to the Santa Clara County Tax Assessor’s Office at 70 W. Hedding St., San Jose, CA, 95110. Taxes may be paid with a credit card or electronic check at www.scctax.org. There is a fee for that service.

Property owners are responsible for their taxes even if they have not received a bill.

Realtors offer annual scholarships

Gilroy – The South County Realtors Association will assist 2005 graduating students who are planning to further their education at either a two- or four-year college or vocational school by awarding $10,000 to be divided among those with the highest scores.

Students must have a GPA of 3.2 or above, clearly defined career goals, proof of admittance to a college/university or trade school, achievements and awards and an Interview required in April. Deadline is April 15.
