Emergency crews move Loreta Dabu, 41, of San Jose, from her vehicle after she crashed through a fence and hit a home at the corner of Leavesley Road and New Avenue Thursday. A truck hauling compost, driven by Albert Aquilar, 44, of San Martin, was preparing to turn right onto northbound New Avenue from westbound Leavesley when Dabu attempted to pass on the right side. Aquilar saw her in his mirror and turned back left. Dabu lost control at about 40 mph, left the road on the west side on the intersection between a power line a tree stump and hit the fence and chimney on the house. She was taken to Regional Medical Center in San Jose.
