Graffiti

Gilroy Police are investigating several pieces of graffiti at 7101 Monterey Street that appear to be a death threat against a California Highway Patrol officer.
The graffiti was done Tuesday morning at the Social Vocational Services building and the doctor’s office next door and CHP and GPD are investigating.
The scrawl mentions 187, which is the penal code for murder, and threatens an officer named Dave and his whole family.
“We take these matters seriously,” said Gilroy Sgt. Jason Smith.  “Police officers put their lives on the line every day to make our community safe. To threaten the life of an officer and his or her family is inexcusable.”
Anyone with information call the GPD and can remain anonymous at (408) 846-0350.
