Volunteer at pack-in
Gilroy – A nonprofit group that sends hand-written letters from home and packages of goodies to U.S. troops abroad is encouraging residents to volunteer this week during its Rock ‘n’ Roll Community Pack-In Night.
Organizers of Operation Interdependence encourage people to come to the Friday night “pack-in” with Christmas cards or notes and snack-size treats such as granola bars, packets of oatmeal, hot chocolate, small packets of peanuts, corn nuts, etc.
Volunteers can look forward to assembling care packages with Christmas carols in the background.
The pack-in takes place from 7 to 9:30pm Friday at 8075 Camino Arroyo (behind the old Wal-Mart in Gilroy).
