The staff at Gilroy High School would like to acknowledge and
thank Leadership Gilroy, class of 2006, Gavilan Community College,
Gilroy High School volunteers, staff, administrators and all of the
people involved in putting on Career Expo 2006 for the students at
Gilroy High School, Mount Madonna High School and El Portal
Academy.

The staff at Gilroy High School would like to acknowledge and thank Leadership Gilroy, class of 2006, Gavilan Community College, Gilroy High School volunteers, staff, administrators and all of the people involved in putting on Career Expo 2006 for the students at Gilroy High School, Mount Madonna High School and El Portal Academy.
Approximately 500 students participated in this wonderful event and they were able to listen and ask questions of 26 career presenters who gave them background and personal information about their experiences in their chosen professions. Students came away with an improved understanding of different careers. Other events and activities included pizza and salads, and motivating raffle prizes to culminate this event. Students and staff alike were impressed.
Leadership Gilroy spent many hours obtaining volunteer presenters in the varied careers that students were interested in. They organized workshop sessions and individualized schedules for students, the set up of the career exhibits in the student center and the donations of food and prizes for the raffle. Special recognition goes to Jennifer Speno, Paula Goldsmith, Wendie Rooney and other committee chairs who chose to invest many personal hours to make this event a success.
Also involved were the staffs from Gavilan College, community organizations and technical schools who provided wonderful exhibits and information for the students. The cafeteria staff, the custodians and the teachers from GHS were equally indispensable.
