WATER POLO: GHS girls notch two league wins, boys split

Six different Mustangs registered at least two goals
Six different Mustangs registered at least two goals as the Gilroy High water polo team pushed its Tri-County Athletic League Valley Division record back to even (3-3) with a 15-6 victory over host Watsonville on Tuesday night.

Brenden Riemer and Levi Carbone topped the lengthy list of Mustangs’ scorers with three goals each. Joe Vanni, Michael Shields, Garrett Pipkin and Derek Harris contributed two goals each, while Mika Smith had one.

Gilroy led 8-3 at halftime.

The Mustangs host San Lorenzo Valley on Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start time scheduled.

— The Gilroy High girls water polo team remains in search of victory No. 1 after a 16-5 loss to Santa Cruz on the road Tuesday.
