The Christopher High girls volleyball team made it two-for-two this week, knocking of St. Francis C.C.C in four sets (25-16, 27-29, 25-20, 25-15) Wednesday night in Gilroy.
Head coach Tom Schatz said he made a couple position adjustments, returning Hanna Tabron from outside hitter to a more familiar spot in the middle and put Claudia Ferreria at left outside hitter.
The moves worked. Ferreria finished with a team-high 15 kills and Tabron registered eight. Merrett Brown delivered 14 kills, while Alex Gerberick set 22 assists. Schatz credited Brittney Souza and Shelly Toves with “outstanding” defense.
Schatz said his team’s most impressive set came in the one they lost, fighting back from a 20-12 deficit to force the extended play.
The Cougars (3-5) will attempt to close the week a perfect 3-0 tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Stevenson at CHS.
