Despite The Dispatch’s recent change in frequency, from a
five-day-a-week to a bi-weekly, I want all of you to know that
little will be changing in terms of giving you the best local
sports coverage in town.
You’ll still be able to stain your fingers with ink every
Tuesday and Friday, as well as see my ugly mug smirking at you over
your morning coffee.

It’s the time in between print editions that will be getting a makeover. And if you have a computer, you’re in luck.
We will now be posting stories online throughout the day so that you receive your local coverage in real time.
Say you want to know about a standout wrestler’s performance, or what happened in a Gilroy High soccer game. We’ll have pictures and a recap of what happened on the Web site (www. gilroydispatch.com) that very same afternoon or evening.
If there is breaking news that you need to know about, it’ll be waiting for you on the Web.
It’s a brave new world we’re entering and Gilroy isn’t immune to the 24-hour news cycle. This shift should allow all of us to keep up better.
And for those of you who have grown tired of my know-it-all approach, you too will benefit. Now all you’ll have to do is throw the sports section in the trash twice a week.
