Gilroy – Animal Health Center opened Men’s Fall E League softball play with a 15-14 edging of Uribe Machining Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Nathan Mixter’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the final inning capped a two-run rally for Animal Health Center. Pat Swearingen went 3-for-4, Mark Cisneros provided a solo home run and Chad Jacobson had a two-run triple for the winners. Ralph Flores clubbed three hits and scored three runs for 1-1 Uribe Machining. Tony Murillo went 3-for-3.
Bob Schoeneman’s RBI-single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Good Ole Boys past Team Beefy 13-12.
Team Beefy forced the extra play when Devon Humphrey singled and scored on a two-out single by Dominic Pirozzoli. Kris Puthoff doubled and tripled for the Good Ole Boys (1-1). Humphrey scored three runs and drove in three for Team Beefy.
Walton & Sons Masonry advanced to 3-0 in Men’s Fall DD League competition Wednesday with a 9-8 squeaker over Pacific Coast Bail Bonds at Las Animas Park.
A.J. Martinez went 3-for-3 and Tyler Maslanka roped a home run and double for Walton & Sons. Jason Mesa singled and tripled, scoring twice for the winners. Sergio Diaz went 3-for-3 and Matt Hernandez bagged two doubles for Pacific Coast Bail Bonds (1-2).
The VFW Vets moved into second place in the DD League at 1-1 with a 19-16 victory over New Hope Community Church.
Joe Cano ignited the VFW Vets offense with a two-run home run and two doubles. Robert Armendariz and Daniel Montenegro each homered. Danny Melendez went 3-for-4 and scored three Vets runs. Christian Alonzo went 4-for-4 and Steve Eddy highlighted a 3-for-3 effort with a three-run double for New Hope.
The Regulators trimmed the Titans 12-11 behind a Jess Lopez Jr. home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Mike Lopez went 3-for-3 as the Regulators moved to 1-1. David Rose and Mike Brummitt each collected three hits for the 1-2 Titans.
