Thank you for the wonderful profile on longtime homeless advocate Florence Trimble. For years, everyone at Emergency Housing Consortium has been profoundly grateful to Mrs. Trimble and her band of Gilroy angels who are instrumental in the operation of the winter shelter in Gilroy.
I’m always amazed by her gentle but persistent efforts to dispel the pervasive myths about homelessness in South County. This may sound silly, but how I feel in her presence is how I suspect I might have felt in the presence of Mother Teresa: a call to humble service of others, and inspiration to become a better human being. She is a living legend at EHC, and we never tire of reading about her.
