Gilroy Police Officers responded to an armed robbery at 7:39 p.m. Sunday at the Gavilan Market, located at 8110 Westwood Drive in Gilroy.

According to a GPD press release, an unknown suspect entered the store, brandished a firearm and demanded money from the register. An employee then handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect exited the business and was last seen running northbound on Westwood Drive.

Police describe the 5-foot-6-inch suspect as a white adult male, or possibly a Hispanic adult male with a light complexion, weighing 230 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
