Just around the corner: Can’t wait until Gilroy’s downtown parade and tree lighting on Dec. 4? Head to Hollister from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday for its 20th annual Lights On Celebration in Downtown Hollister. End of the harvest: Gilroy Gardens Harvest Fest runs through Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy a fall scavenger hunt, kiddie hay maze and cornstalk houses. Groups who are chosen to decorate receive 50 complimentary tickets to Gilroy Gardens for their organization. The park is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Details, click here.
Art on display to benefit the needy: Experience the artwork of Gavilan College art students through Dec. 10 at the Gilroy Arts Center, 7341 Monterey St. A free public reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the center. A concert showcasing the music of Supper for a Song follows the reception at 8 p.m. Admission to the concert is a can or box of food to benefit the needy this holiday season. Holiday and culture: El Teatro Campeisno’s holiday production “La Virgen del Tepeyac” runs Thursdays through Sundays through Dec. 19 at the Playhouse in San Juan Bautista, 705 Fourth St. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 4 and 7:30 p.m. Sundays. This play dramatizes the four apparitions of Our Lady Of Guadalupe to Juan Diego, who took a message from the Virgin to the bishop to build a temple in her honor on Tepeyac hill. The play is largely in Spanish with some dialogue in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs. It also includes librettos in English. Cost: $14 to $32. Details: 623-2444 or click here.
Head off to Noises Off: South Valley Civic Theater presents the comedy “Noises Off” at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, 17090 Monterey Road, Morgan Hill. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays from through Dec. 18. Cost: $18 for general, $14 for students and seniors. For details, click here.
