Gilroy – One juvenile was arrested in connection with the stabbing of 16-year-old Armando Montes, Jr., according to Gilroy Police Sgt. Kurt Svardal.
Montes was stabbed Tuesday evening in front of his home in The Redwoods apartment complex on Kern Avenue. Two male teenagers were thought to be suspects, and Svardal confirmed that one male teen was arrested Tuesday night.
“He is a juvenile, so we’re not releasing his name; he is in custody,” Svardal said Wednesday. “There is one outstanding suspect.”
Montes was flown to Valley Medical Center after the incident. His condition was unavailable Wednesday, but Svardal confirmed that he had survived the assault.
The incident is still under investigation.
