Each week we recognize one area male and female athlete for their performance on the field of play. This week’s are:

Anthonee Bartholic, Christopher Baseball

Bartholic tossed six solid innings for the Cougars in their 6-0 shutout win over Salinas Tuesday at home. The Christopher pitcher allowed just three hits and four walks while striking out three Cowboy batters. The victory improves the Cougars to 12-11 overall, 8-7 in league play.


Sloane Pace, Gilroy Gymnastics

Pace took ninth place at the April 29 meet at Half Moon Bay. She scored a 9.75 in the floor exercise, which is a personal best for the freshman gymnast and a new Mustangs’ record. Pace also scored a 9.15 on the vault, an 8.4 on the balance beam and a 35.1 all around.
