Dear Editor,

We have lived in Gilroy for 37 years. We have always enjoyed our area, until the city fathers decided to allow in-fill Planned Unit Development. Our back yard backs onto one of these in-fill properties. It is located across from Rod Kelley School.

For the last two years we have had to contact the city quite a number of times. The contractors have no regard for the neighbors in the area. We have been awakened by radios blaring in our bedroom before 7am. The city ordinance states that construction cannot start before 7am. The generators start anytime between 6:10 and 6:50 every morning. No one seems to care.

The citizens of Gilroy need to wake up and see what the city council and the planning commission are doing to this town. These big box houses with almost no yards do not blend in with many neighborhoods.

We will see how Council members vote Monday night on the Miller Avenue project. And this will show the people of Gilroy how to cast their votes for Council in November.
