The South County Titans 12U travel baseball team out of Gilroy took second place out of 10 teams over the weekend at the King of the Dirt Labor Day tournament at Twin Creeks.

The Titans came out Saturday firing on all cylinders with a 13-4 romp of the Golden Gate Sliders.

However, the excitement was short-lived as the Titans fell short in 5-1 in Game 2 to the Sacramento Blue Devils.

The script was similar Sunday, as the Titans once again came out swinging with a 6-0 victory over the Cepeda Giants, but dropped the nightcap 7-1 to the Bay Valley Bombers.

With there performance over the first two days of the tournament, The Titans qualified for the Final Four, as the No. 4 seed and faced the No. 1 seeded Blue Devils. This time, the Titans jumped all over the Blue Devils in a 6-2 decision to advance to the finals. The Titans, though, ran out of steam and lost 7-3 to the Giants.
