Benjamin David Diaz Sr., born February 13, 1920 in Santa Margarita died on April 24, 2004 in Modesto. He was 84.
Mr. Diaz moved to Gilroy in 1927. He drove a truck for more than 40 years and once owned his own trucking business called Rose Trucking.
He is survived by sons, Peter D. Diaz, Clarence L. Diaz, Arthur T. Diaz, Eugene Diaz and John Diaz; daughters, Ellen Diaz and Martha McQueen; brother, Leonard and Annette Diaz of Visalia, and Henry and Richard Diaz, Edwin Diaz, Bobby Diaz and Alfred Diaz, all of Gilroy; sisters, Erma and Chris Sosa, Arlene and Tomas Lujan, Irene Perez, Sylvia and Carlos Guajardo and Geri Guerriero, all of Gilroy; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and niece’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents Damasio and Geralbine Diaz, and his sisters Ella Peralta and Cookie Molina; sons, Benjamin David Diaz Jr., and Marty Diaz; daughter Elaine Diaz; and his grandson Theodore Arthur Diaz; and several nephews and niece’s.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the Gilroy Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1575 Mantelli Drive, Gilroy.
