GILROY – Auditions are being held for South Valley Civic Theatre’s upcoming production of “Moon Over Buffalo,” a farce about the theater set in 1950’s Buffalo, N.Y.

The play by Ken Ludwig includes eight character roles.

The play will be performed at the end of August and the beginning of September.

To audition, prepare a one- to two-minute monologue and be prepared to read from the script.

Check-in for tonight’s auditions is 7 p.m. and the auditions begin at 7:30 p.m.

Check-in for Saturday’s 10 a.m. auditions is 9:30 a.m. and for Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. auditions is 1 p.m

MORGAN HILL – ComedySportz, an improvisational comedy show, similar to TV’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?” will give a special performance at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be $12 for adults and $11 for students, kids, seniors and military.

Over the last 16 years, the ComedySportz crew has given almost 4,000 performances in the South Bay, as well as special performances at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and for U.S. troops in Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey.

It’s fast, fresh and suitable for all ages.

ComedySportz also performs Friday and Saturday nights at Bella Mia, 58 South First St. in San Jose. The Morgan Hill Playhouse is located at 17000 Monterey Road at East Fifth Street. Tickets available at the door.
