Kirchick triples in tying run, then scores game-winner in 17-16
victory over Poor Boys
GILROY – Stu Kirchick hit a game-tying triple and scored the winner on a sacrifice fly as Morgan Hill Bible Church rallied past the Extreme Air Poor Boys 17-16 in nine innings Monday at Las Animas Park.
Paul Bejarano and Jeff Duarte collected four hits apiece as Morgan Hill Bible Church moved to 2-2 in second-half Men’s CCC League play. Mike Peternel scored four runs for the winners.
Brandon Orlando singled and scored on an outfield error with two out in the top of the ninth for the Poor Boys. David Jackson opened the Bible ninth by reaching base on an error. Kirchick’s drive to right-center plated Jackson. Richard Stanco followed with a sacrifice fly.
Orlando finished with five hits and Jeff Dougherty cracked three extra-base hits for Extreme.
Jon Ontiveros and Ryan Nam each bagged four hits to lead 4-0 Campbell’s Towing past 4-1 Krazy Koyote 22-16.
Brandon Straw’s two-run single capped a seven-run seventh inning effort for Campbell’s. Daniel Garcia went 5-for-5 and Eddie Vargas and Ray Garcia boomed home runs for Krazy Koyote, the first-half DD champion.
Dave DeCarlo launched a three-run double to spark Countryside Daycare past RMC Engineering 11-8. Charlie Roe went 2-for-2 with three RBI four Countryside. Larry Montez Jr. drilled a two-run homer and Larry Montez Sr. added a two-run triple for the Engineers.
Carreiro’s Plastering topped No Soup 4 You 22-9 Monday at Gavilan Sports Park to remain tied for first place in the Men’s CC League.
Bobby Granados hit two home runs and Rodney Clore socked a homer, double and two singles for the 3-1 Plasterers. Richard Furtado went 4-for-4, Jason Luna 3-for-5 for No Soup 4 You.
The Dirty Dozen matched Carreiro’s at 3-1 with a 14-8 decision over Malibu Heating and Air Conditioning. Joel Garcia paced the Dozen with a 3-for-3 showing. E. J. Mendoza hit a two-run homer and Gabe Hernandez singled and tripled for Malibu Heating.
The Las Animas Sweepers defeated South County Rockery and Building Materials 22-6 to leave both teams at 2-2. Brian Cortez mashed a home run, double and single for the Sweepers. Nick Vantero and Brian Kowsowski netted three hits apiece for the Rockery.
