Boy treated for pain in his leg at Saint Louise Regional
Hospital
Gilroy – A bicyclist who cut into evening traffic Monday suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car heading west on 10th Street.

Traffic was diverted briefly before the boy was transported by ambulance to Saint Louise Regional Hospital. After smashing into the windshield the minor landed about 20 feet in front of the car, Gilroy Fire Department Capt. Art Amaro said.

The boy, whose identity was unavailable because he’s a minor, complained of pain in his left leg, Amaro said. Chris Keener of Gilroy, who was driving his white Kia with his wife and daughter, said he didn’t see the boy until it was too late.

“He’s braking and then there goes the windshield,” said Christina Keener. “I’m so grateful we weren’t going very fast.”
