A juvenile stole a $30 bottle of Captain Morgan’s rum from a store on First Street at 2 p.m.

Two men got in a fight over a remote control and one of them threw a pool cue at the other. He was arrested at 2 p.m. on IOOF Avenue.

A 33-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence at 8:45 p.m. on Alexander Street after throwing his wife on the bed, threatening to rape her and throwing her phone after she called police.

May 9

A 34-year-old man was arrested after hitting his girlfriend with a belt buckle at 1:09 a.m. on Monterey Street. He was also in possession of a meth pipe.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at 5:30 a.m. for being under the influence of a controlled substance at a motel on Old Gilroy St. after he was reported to have been acting strangely and damaging property.

At 9:45 a.m. someone broke the driver side window of a 2013 Nissan Sentra on Arroyo Court and stole a blue tooth speaker valued at $80.

A woman tried to take a 40 inch TV out the emergency door at Costco at 2 p.m. She ran away after the alarm sounded. She took off in a red Nissan Maxima.

A man who stole a $300 drill from a former employer tried to sell it to the victim’s cousin at 4:19 p.m. on Rancho Hills Drive.

May 10

A 32-year-old woman was arrested for hitting her boyfriend with an object and causing a cut at 12:33 a.m. on Eigleberry Street.The woman had a previous restraining order against her.

A man stole two pairs of sunglasses, Prada and Pesol valued at $600 from a store on Arroyo Circle at 8:45 p.m. When a clerk tried to stop him, he pushed the clerk and fled.

May 11

Someone drove off with a fuel pump attached to their car at 11:45 a.m. from a gas station on First Street. They did $170 damage to the pump and took $10 worth of gas.

Sarah Deane, 26, was arrested for allegedly filling several bags with merchandise and leaving a Camino Arroyo store at 5 p.m. Some of the items in the bags included Nike sandals, Juicy Couture jewelry, Ed Hardy natural spray and Nike leggings.

A former Shoe Palace employee reportedly stole $2,400 of athletic shoes. He returned the shoes but failed to pay the company back as he’d agreed to do.

Someone cut the fence at Pacific Coast Recycling and stole $500 of copper wire.

May 13

A Deville Court woman received a scam call from someone claiming to be the Internal Revenue service at 9:30 a.m., saying she needed to pay her overdue tax bill or police will come to arrest her. They told her that she could make her payment in Apple iTunes cards, which she did to the tune of $4,200.

May 14

Matthew White, 29, was arrested for allegedly driving a stolen Toyota Tacoma and leading police on a chase through Gilroy and Morgan Hill at 4:11 p.m.

A 1998 Dodge Ram was stolen at 9:30 a.m. on Churchill Place.

May 15

A man heard his green Honda Civic start at 1:20 p.m in a parking lot outside his Chestnut Street home. He ran out to stop the theft and saw the outline of the thief as he drove onto Murray Street.

A 36-year-old man reported that he had been shot in San Jose at 2:27 a.m. Gilroy Police found he was hallucinating under the influence of narcotics. They arrested Patrick Joseph Mrioniconk at a Monterey Street residence.

A pit bull bit a Chihuahua mix on Gurries Drive at 5:30 p.m

May 16

Someone broke out three windows of a Dodge Durango on West Seventh Street at 1:20 a.m.

A woman was cited at 8:27 a.m. for allowing her cat to defecate on a Bosque Street lawn.

A man stole items from three Target stores in Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister. He took two security cameras valued at $149.99 each from the Gilroy Target, as well as a car charger valued at $99.99.

A Nicole Way man reported that a neighbor put rat poison over his fence and poisoned his dog at 7 p.m. The dog was taken to a vet.

May 17

Alert neighbors reported a suspicious man around Mantelli Drive and Larkspur. Police arrested Pedro Jimenez, 49, on suspicion of theft from a vehicle and stolen property. He reportedly had a $400 coach bag and a $209 black Garmin GPS.

A Mac laptop valued at $1,000 was stolen at 1:39 p.m. from a school on Calle del Rey.

May 18

A driver hit a bicyclist and caused head trauma at 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mantelli Drive and Wren Avenue.

CalTrain stopped unexpectedly in Gilroy at 11:03 to report a woman who was drunk and disorderly on the train. She was arrested by Gilroy Police.

Two men were caught on video cutting a cage around Coscto’s propane tank between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. One was on a bicycle, the other on a skateboard. Police said the duo have been spotted on camera nightly trying to break into the store.

Mark Allen Kaiser, 28, was arrested for allegedly punching in the door of a Mini Cooper at 12:15 p.m. He reportedly though the car’s passengers were watching him, according to a police report.

An arson fire was started around 4 p.m. at Christmas Hill Park. No structures were lost.

A man was robbed at Las Animas Park at 10 p.m. The thieves took his cell phone and $1,500 cash.

A man stole a two bicycles from a store on Camino Arroyo on consecutive days. Police were called and arrested him the second day.

May 20

A 42-year-old man was arrested after his girlfriend reported him for acting bizarrely. He told police people were spying on him and his legs had been cut off, but police found them “perfectly intact.”

May 21

A car struck a vehicle and then a building at Monterey and Ninth Streets at 8:10 p.m.

A man armed with a fishing knife was arrested by Gilroy Police after Kohl’s security reportedly saw him shoplifting at 8 p.m. Police said Jamoul Gladney, 26, threatened them after the arrest. He reportedly had around $100 of clothes and sunglasses.

May 22

Someone set several dumpster fires at 1:15 a.m. on the 700-900 blocks of First Street.
