Hernandez goes 4-for-4 in Aladdin’s 13-12 victory
GILROY – The showdown for the Men’s DD League leadership went the way of Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring, a 13-12 winner over challenger Cosa Nostra Tuesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Aladdin-Rhino and Cosa Nostra shared 3-1 records entering Tuesday’s play. Cosa Nostra pushed across four runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to finish one run short. The win gave Aladdin-Rhino a 4-1 mark and a one-game lead over three 3-2 teams entering the final week of play. The 0-5 Slammers will provide the competition next week for Aladdin-Rhino.
Mike Hernandez (4-for-4) and Scott Rader hit two-run home runs and Eric Cantu added a solo blast for the winners. John Carrillo went 4-for-4, Jose Adame 3-for-4 for Cosa Nostra.
The Hustlers are 3-2 after a 17-9 victory over the Slammers. Mike Nichols blasted two home runs in a six-RBI effort for the Hustlers. Mike Reggiardo, Sammy Lopez and Reniel Izquerdo netted three Hustler hits apiece. Ed Cordia went 3-for-3 with a home run, Roman Arebilo 3-for-4 for the Slammers.
Joel Gaeta walked and scored on an infield out in the top of the seventh inning to give Los Chilotes a 14-13 win over the Bomb Squad. Juan Contreras hit a grand slam and Jorge Landeros and Clint Minor added homers for Los Chilotes. Josh Gonzales went 4-for-4 with a homer, Eddie Adame 3-for-4 for the Bombers.
Dan Keith Septics is 4-0 atop the Men’s DDD League standings after a 20-10 nod over Victory Outreach Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Danny Rubacalva homered and Jose Pacheco went 3-for-4 for the Septics. Anthony Hernandez homered in a 3-for-4 showing for Victory Outreach.
California Overhead is 3-1 after a 12-3 decision over Most Wanted. Rafael Gomez delivered a three-run homer and two doubles for the Overhead Doors. Ed Solis went 3-for-4 and scored four Door runs. Jorge Morales, Gilbert Tovar and Shane Tamez each went 2-for-3 for Most Wanted.
Hector Miramontes went 4-for-5 as the Hitmen powered past Bay Sheets 19-3. Miramontes and Shawn Hernandez each scored four Hitmen runs. Serf Mancera and Joe Benevides each netted two Bay Sheets hits.
