Avila Bail Bonds drops Talamo Foods 19-3 to move two games up in
Men’s B League action
GILROY – Craig Avila Bail Bonds moved two games ahead of the pack in the Men’s B League pennant chase Tuesday with a 19-3 nod over Team Talamo Foods at Christmas Hill Park.
Richie Rodriquez hit a two-run double as Craig Avila Bail Bonds struck for nine runs in the first inning. Thomas Carrillo powered two home runs for the 3-0 Bondsmen. Santos Gutierrez went 3-for-3 for Team Talamo.
Good Fellas, the first-half C League titlist, trimmed Salas Trucking 17-12 to create a three-team tie for second at 1-2.
Cameron Bautista went 4-for-4 and Robert Flores homered for the Good Fellas. John Vasquez drove in three Salas Trucking runs with a home run, double and single.
The Playaz, the first-half CC champion, moved to 1-1 in Men’s C League play in the second half with a 14-5 decision over D.A. Wolfe Construction Friday at Las Animas Park.
Bobby Galvan and George Salgado Jr. each mustered three hits for the Playaz. Jess Lopez Jr. hit two RBI-singles for the Builders.
Henry Huerta clubbed a lead-off triple and a two-run single in a nine-run first frame as Dee’z Nutz topped Westwood Barbers 12-2. Gino Martinez and Daniel Vasquez each drilled two Westwood hits.
Krazy Koyote, the first-half DD winner, outlasted RMC Engineering 22-12 Tuesday at Las Animas to move to 3-0.
Ray Garcia hit a grand slam and Eddie Vargas went 5-for-5 for the Koyote. Larry Montez and Mario Trujillo each went 3-for-3 for the Engineers.
Morgan Hill Bible Church suprised the Desperados 23-16 with a 30-hit offense. Mike Peternel, Jeff Duarte and Rob Paterson each posted four Bible hits. Stu Kirchick went 3-for-3 and scored four Bible runs. Bob Stuve, Ron Erskine, Lorenzo Nino and Frank Higuera each blasted four Desperados hits.
